He has worked as a Producer on both New Media and Film/Video productions. The new media projects he has produced and overseen have won awards/recognitions such as 4 Honoree Distinctions at the annual Webby Awards (described as the Oscars of the Internet by The New York Times), 2 ADCC Awards, and have been published in magazines such as .Net mag (UK), Photonet (Korea) and ComputerArts (China), and most recently in two Taschen books.
In August 2009, issue#193 of the .net UK magazine, Thierry Loa was selected as one of the World's top 20 new media talents.
Taking on new challenges and following his passion for the art of cinema, he has been writing, producing and directing short narrative films. His filmmaking thus far has obtained recognitions such as Best Film at the Moving Image Film Festival, Best Music at the WildSound Film Festival, Best (Flash) Narrative at the FITC, nomination at the SXSW for Web film, Official Selection at the Brooklyn Film Festival, and a P.Gerretsen Film Award.
Hence Thierry can be regarded as a 'hybrid media' producer, fusing New Media and traditional Media productions together for creating seamless hybrid media solutions and unique storytelling.
He is currently producing a cinematic-ethnographic feature-length film and a one-hour interactive drama film. |
